Be open to your dreams, people. Embrace that distant shore. Because our mortal journey is over all too soon.David AssaelThis memorial website was created to remember our dearest
Micah Strong who was born in
United States and passed away on
May 31, 2014. You will live forever in our memories and hearts.
When Micah was about 2 or 3 we had a pond behind our house. Each day he would sit in front of the back door and look at the pond as he would eat his afternoon snack. One day I asked what he was thinking about. He looked up at me and asked if there were fish in the pond. I told him I didn't know but I thought there were. He sat there for a moment and kept eating. The next day Micah asked if we could have a picnic by the pond. I made some snacks, took his hand and we walked to the pond. He smiled and was happy. Micah then asked if we could feed the fish. Boog what are we gonna feed them? I asked. He looked at me with the biggest smile and said. We can feed them my teddy grams. So we walked around the pond throwing teddy grams to the fish.

Micah... I followed his class all day... He knew how to make smile. "Hi, Mrs. Mills" and "Have a Good Evening" at the end of my day!!! He was so Repectful with "Yes Ma'am, Thank You and can I do that for you!" I always told him that he was the brightest star in my room. We had our moments but I enjoyed every minute talking to him. When he needed help with his work, would come and ask me could he sit back at the table with me! He always rised his hand like he was taught and never backed down!
His favorite word in class was "EPIC" and since his passing, I have been hearing that word on TV or in other peoples conversations. I know he is with God because I asked for him to give me a sign and I have received my sign. I will Truly Miss Micah, he was my Bright and Shining Star!!! May you Rest in Heaven Micah Strong for I will see you again.
I remember when your mother and I started dating. It was a tough time in my life. Somehow you would find a way to make me smile. You would ask if I needed a hug, although I did and you knew it, I would say no. You would turn it around and say you needed a hug. You knew nobody could say no, you always knew how to get them helpful hugs in there. I have very few proud moments in my life, my three other children, your mother, and you becoming my son are the top four. The day you asked if you could call me daddy, I wanted to cry. I was very proud that you would want me to be your dad. I can remember when your mother told me one day that you got suspended from school for fighting. It seemed odd that she wasn't really mad and was laughing about it. She told me that a boy had told you that your dad can't be white, so you hit him. Well it was hard for me to be mad since I got into a fight in high school because a kid tried to tell me that my dad wasn't black. Well, I guess we showed them.lol. I just want to thank you for the time you gave me. It may have been short but, you made it feel like I was there from the beginning. You will ALWAYS be in my heart and my thoughts.I love you
LOVE ALWAYS,
Daddy

Whenever I saw Micah in the hallways, he would always say "Hello, Dr. Stollar." He knew how to make someone feel good about themselves. Micah was always happy and friendly to everyone in the school. He worked hard as a students and encouraged others to do their very best. Micah will be missed tremendously at Emma Donnan Middle School. He was a shining star.

Can something good be said about death?
It Separates friends, families and sows pain, grief and sadness.
The Bible says that death is our great enemy.
However, the Bible also gives us hope!
John 5: 28, 29 as well as Acts 24:15; indicate that there will be a resurrection of the just and unjust.
Psalm 37:29 also promises that the righteous will possess the Earth.
Through the pages of the Bible we can acquire knowledge and guidance that help us face the loss of our loved ones…It gives us a sure hope.

I didn't know Micah personally but I knew his Mom Tanisa, whenever we ran into each other in the break room at work it seemed we just happened to be there alone. Tanisa, I will always remember our talks and how much love, and passion I felt from you when you talked about all of your children. I know your heart is aching, just know that I am thinking about you & praying for you. Trust God and He will keep you and carry you through it all. Stay lifted and encouraged!

Dear Family,
I too know the loss of a son and the disbelief, pain, and believe it or not joy that follows. I first met Micah at School #14 and was reacquainted when he attended Shortridge. I knew him to be quiet, kind, and thoughtful. In days, weeks, months, and years to come cling to those wonderful memories and the joy he brought to your life. I will pray your continue to pray for your strength.
